Enhanced Axial Location
It is well known that cylindrical roller bearings have excellent radial load-carrying capacity, but their axial load-carrying capacity is rather limited. However, in the actual operation of bearings, axial positioning capability is very necessary, and the angular ring can well solve this problem.
Most angular rings are made of chrome steel. This material is widely used in bearings due to its excellent hardness and wear resistance. Chrome steel can ensure that the angular ring maintains structural integrity and performance stability when subjected to axial loads and sliding friction, resisting fatigue and wear, and providing more reliable axial positioning capability.
Unmatched Design Flexibility
The angular ring is also commonly known as the “L-shaped thrust ring”, and is frequently used in NU and NJ type cylindrical roller bearings. This angular ring is a separate additional component outside the bearing assembly, distinct from the flange formed by machining on the bearing. The angular ring is more like a flexible supplementary solution.
With the help of the angular ring, you don’t need to replace or look for special locating bearings. Just choose our angular rings to meet your unique requirements.
Simplified Installation & Maintenance
As a separable component, the angular ring greatly simplifies the installation and disassembly process of cylindrical roller bearings. Although the built-in flanges of the bearings also have the same function, the processing of the flanges is relatively complex, resulting in higher manufacturing costs and more difficult assembly.
If the angular ring is chosen, during installation, the inner ring, outer ring and angular ring can be installed on the shaft and bearing housing respectively, and then the roller and cage assembly can be installed. This not only reduces the installation difficulty but also brings great convenience for subsequent maintenance and repair.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I choose the correct angular contact ring model for my bearing?
The model of the angular ring directly corresponds to the model of the bearing. For example, the angular ring code for the 200 series bearings is HJ2xx, and for the 300 series it is HJ3xx. You just need to ensure that the size series of the angular ring matches your cylindrical roller bearing. If you have any questions, contact us.
What should be noted when installing the angle ring?
The key lies in ensuring that the angular contact ring is correctly installed in the bearing housing and is firmly axially supported by the housing shoulder or end cover. The supporting surface must be flat, clean and perpendicular to the axis to ensure that the axial force is evenly transmitted.
Are the angle rings from different manufacturers interchangeable?
Yes. According to ISO 246, the dimensions of separable angle rings are clearly defined. These standardized regulations ensure the interchangeability and compatibility of angular rings with bearing assemblies, allowing products from different manufacturers to work together seamlessly.
TFL's angular rings are also produced strictly in accordance with international standards and can be smoothly interchanged with other brands, but at a more reasonable price. If needed, please contact us.
Do you offer samples? What is the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)?
Sample availability and Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) can vary by product model. Please check the specific product page or contact our sales team for details on the bearing you need.
